It’s a big deal to be chosen to parent a child and we are grateful to have been given this opportunity to raise Luca.  He is our first and only child.  We started our journey not knowing if we’d ever get picked.  The day finally came when we met the birth mother, Ashley, and a month later we were at the ultrasound seeing this beautiful baby boy. 

Two and a half weeks later, we’re holding him in our arms and falling in love.  It took some time to finalize the adoption as we navigated the birthfather, and we were very nervous that it wasn’t going to happen.  However, on Nov 18th, we virtually stood in front of the judge, finalized the adoption, and Luca became our son. What a huge weight that had been lifted from our hearts.  Every day he brings joy into our lives.  He has the biggest, warmest smile. 

Our families and closest friends look forward to seeing the many daily photos that we send to them.  We thank Ashley for being an amazing person.  She checks in on us often and sends her love.  We’re fortunate to have both sides of Luca’s birth family accepting of our adoption of him.  We hope that Luca can grow up spending time with and getting to know them.

We thank everyone at the agency for the hard work put into this adoption.  Every step of the way they were extremely nice, professional and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to guide us through the process.
